Frequently asked questions
What does Check4Tech Solutions do?
We design and build custom software around how your organization actually works — not a boxed product you have to bend your process to fit. That covers discovery, design, development, launch, and ongoing support: the screens your people use, the systems behind them, and getting it live and kept reliable. Clients usually come to us when spreadsheets, email chains, disconnected tools, or aging software are slowing things down and they need something built for their team.
What does our consulting look like?
Consulting comes first — before we write code. We sit with your team, walk the real process, and map how work moves today: who does what, where it stalls, what gets re-entered, and what compliance or handoff gaps create risk. From that we design a practical technology plan — what to build, what to leave alone, what to integrate, and what should ship first. You get clear requirements, a scoped approach, and a path your leadership can evaluate. If we also build the software, that consulting work becomes the blueprint. If you only need the strategy and architecture, that stands on its own.
What kinds of projects do you take on?
We build software for how your team actually works. That usually means custom web apps, internal tools your staff use every day, portals for customers or employees, automated approvals and workflows, dashboards and reports, websites that support real inquiries or client work — not just a brochure — and upgrades of older systems that are holding you back. We’ll add AI features only when they solve a clear problem, like sorting documents or routing work. If you need something built around your process, roles, and tools, we’re a fit. If you just need a cheap template website with no real workflow behind it, we’ll tell you early that we’re not the right shop.
How does a project typically start?
It starts with discovery — not a guess based on a contact-form sentence. We meet (remotely or in person) to learn what’s broken or slow, who the users are, what success looks like, which tools you already rely on, and what constraints matter — budget, timeline, security, compliance. From there we map the workflow, decide what should ship first, and give you a clear plan. Many projects go out in phases: a first release that fixes the biggest pain, then more once that foundation is working.
If you design custom software, can it still connect to tools we already use?
Yes — that’s often why people hire us. Because we build the system ourselves, we can wire integrations in from the start: CRMs, billing, scheduling, login/SSO, payments, ERPs, internal databases, industry systems, and other APIs you already depend on. Your people shouldn’t retype the same information in three places or keep a fragile spreadsheet bridge between tools. We design around your workflow and connect what still deserves to stay.
Who owns the software you build?
Your organization keeps the ownership and usage rights it needs to run and grow the system after delivery. Before development starts, the agreement spells out what’s being built, how source code is handled, where it’s hosted, what access you have, and what’s project-specific versus shared infrastructure. We don’t bury those terms. Procurement, IT, and leadership should know what they own — especially if another team or in-house staff takes over later.
Do you provide support and maintenance after launch?
Yes. Launch isn’t the end of the relationship. Live software needs monitoring, updates, bug fixes, security attention, and room to grow as your operations change. We offer ongoing support after go-live so the system stays reliable. Support is billed monthly. Pricing depends on the project and is scoped with you before you commit — so you’re not left alone the week after launch, and you have a team that already knows the system when something needs attention.
How long does a typical project take?
It depends on complexity, integrations, how many roles are involved, and how much process design is needed up front. A focused internal tool or automation can often go from discovery to a usable first release in a matter of weeks. A larger platform — multiple modules, several integrations, richer permissions, or a deep modernization — takes longer and usually ships in phases. We don’t quote a fake universal number from a website form. After discovery you get a realistic schedule tied to a clear scope, with milestones you can track.
Which industries do you work with?
We work across public sector and government, healthcare and emergency services, transportation and logistics, field services, manufacturing, construction, professional services, and selected financial services projects. We’re not limited to one industry. What we look for is real operational complexity — processes, accountability, and consequences when software is wrong or missing. If your industry isn’t listed word-for-word but you need a custom system, portal, automation, or modernization, it’s still worth a conversation.
